Redlands Bakery
Redland's Bakery pre-dates Port Arthur by 12 years and we believe it to be Australia's oldest continually working bread oven.
The Bakery is overseen by Jay Patey, owner of the highly acclaimed Pigeon Whole Bakery in West Hobart. Redlands Bakery will bake a small number of sourdough loaves each day and these will be available for sale in the Whisky Stable. They will also be available as part of a Redlands lunch platter, available through our Oast House cafe.
From February 2013 our bread will be made exclusively from Redlands own wheat, water from the Plenty River and salt. Some loaves will also contain Redlands' sprouted and malted barley.
